AI hardware design platform
From a hardware idea to a tested prototype.
Describe what you want to build. Ohmbo designs the circuit, PCB, firmware and enclosure in one project. An engineer reviews it before fabrication, and the prototype is built and tested against a written plan.
Free to start, no subscription. Prototypes are quoted before you pay.

One hardware team
One team for the entire hardware journey.
From requirements and architecture through electronics, firmware, mechanics, prototypes and measured test, every stage shares one project context, revision history and engineering evidence.
10 stages · 4 phases · 1 project record
Define
01–02
Make the idea executable
Establish requirements, architecture and risk boundaries before detailed engineering begins.
Engineer
03–05
Make the circuit manufacturable
Keep schematic, layout and routing decisions on one reviewed design baseline.
Integrate
06–08
Make every discipline converge
Tie firmware, mechanical fit and ECO decisions to the same board revision.
Prove
09–10
Replace assumptions with evidence
Build, inspect and measure the physical result, then write findings back into the project.
BUILT FOR THE HANDOFFS
One hardware team for every side of the project.
Start where the work is blocked. Ohmbo keeps the electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and validation context in one project.
- 01
Electronics companies
Stuck at
Electrical, mechanical, sourcing, and manufacturing files drift across teams and versions.
Why Ohmbo
Requirements through test stay in one project record, without restarting at every handoff.
- 02
Hardware startups
Stuck at
The product direction is clear, but the team cannot staff circuit, enclosure, prototype, and validation at once.
Why Ohmbo
Enter at any stage and use one team to complete the hardware journey.
- 03
Solution providers
Stuck at
Parallel client projects make revisions, evidence, and deliverables hard to keep aligned.
Why Ohmbo
Track decisions, versions, and outputs per project to reduce repeated coordination and rework.
- 04
PCBA manufacturers
Stuck at
Incomplete incoming designs turn DFM, BOM, and production questions into long clarification loops.
Why Ohmbo
Surface engineering gaps earlier with design rationale and a cleaner manufacturing package.
- 05
Mechanical engineers
Stuck at
Board outlines, connectors, mounting holes, and keepouts arrive late, so mechanical and electrical changes chase each other.
Why Ohmbo
Keep PCB, 3D, and enclosure constraints aligned in one traceable project.
Why one project
Change the circuit. Firmware and enclosure keep up.
In most hardware work, one pin change means re-sending files to the firmware and enclosure side. In Ohmbo, schematic, PCB, firmware and 3D enclosure share one revision history, so every change carries its context to the next step.
Review, simulation and physical testing each keep their own results.
- 01 · One workspace
- Circuit, PCB, firmware, simulation and enclosure on the same revision
- 02 · Real prototypes
- Engineer review before fabrication, then build and measured test to a written plan, quoted per order
- 03 · Pay as you grow
- Start on Free; add work credits only when the project needs them

Questions before you start.
What is Ohmbo?
Ohmbo is an AI hardware development platform. You describe a product in plain language, and Ohmbo works through requirements, circuit and PCB design, firmware, simulation and 3D enclosure in one project. When the design is ready, engineers review it, and prototypes are built and tested under a separately quoted order.
Do I need to know PCB design?
No. A plain-language description is enough to open a project. Ohmbo asks for missing requirements, drafts the design, and you review it and ask for changes in the same place.
What kind of hardware can I build?
Ohmbo focuses on low-voltage electronics such as sensors, ESP32 and other IoT devices, controllers and audio gadgets, on boards up to 6 layers and 100 × 100 mm. It does not take mains-powered (AC) circuits; medical, automotive or aerospace designs; custom RF (pre-certified modules are suggested instead); high-speed interfaces such as USB 3.0+, PCIe or HDMI; or rigid-flex and metal-core boards. Out-of-scope requests are declined before you pay.
Can I trust a design the AI drafted?
An AI draft is a starting point, not a physical test. Before fabrication, an engineer reviews the design for DFM and electrical issues, and measured results from the prototype are written back into the same project. Automated checks, simulation and physical testing each keep their own results, so you always know what has been proven.
How much money and time will it take?
Reaching a hardware MVP used to take a full team, months of work and tens of thousands of dollars. With Ohmbo you can go from an idea to a reviewed design in hours, starting on the Free plan with no subscription. Prototype manufacturing and testing are quoted per order from the BOM, quantity and test scope, with schedules confirmed before payment.
What files do I get?
Projects produce standard engineering files: KiCad schematic and PCB, Gerber, BOM, STEP models and firmware source, so the design is not locked to one tool or factory. Download and release conditions for design and manufacturing files follow the published order terms.
Is this only for companies that already manufacture?
No. We work with any company or team that needs to validate a product, from established manufacturers to solo founders, so you can test requirements and ideas at the lowest cost.
Can I use Ohmbo from Claude Code or another AI agent?
Yes. Ohmbo provides a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.ohmbo.com/mcp with OAuth sign-in, and a Claude Code plugin that bundles it. Jobs started from an agent belong to your website account, where the full project, visual review and released results stay.
What are you building?
